Zadok Ben-David’s upcoming exhibition at Shoshana Wayne Gallery will open in January 2013. In this exhibition the sculptor will show new works, a collection of sculptures and an installation, questioning the perception of beauty embodied as a dichotomy. In the installation you will see on one side colourfully detailed butterflies, hand painted, and on the other side, insects, cockroaches and beetles rendered in one colour. The 3m large circular installation with more than 2,000 miniature butterflies will be transformed by hanging indoor in a dark room under UV light. Ben-David’s new collection of aluminium sculptures has developed from his previous exhibition in Singapore; true to himself the artist keeps pushing his work and finding new ways to engage with his practice.
